1-Day, Meaningful collaboration workshop with music thinking for your team or organisation
This high-energy 1-day course will give you a common level of understanding of Music Thinking and some new tools.
A set of the Music Thinking Jam Cards is included.
“Music Thinking is a method to create meaningful collaborations. With the six cues, an iterative dynamic model and a variety of music inspirations the workshop is full of new perspectives.”
The new tools we will practice in this course are Serendipity Lab, Mix & Match and Strategy Jam (see explanation below). After the course, you will be able to use the tools and exercises in your work.
Because Music Thinking gives another dimension on how to connect service design, agile, design thinking, branding and organisational change, we will focus on how to connect people and organisation for meaningful collaboration.
A LITTLE THEORY
The focus of the course will be on the basic understanding of the four phases, the six cues and what different dynamics will do with them.
The six cues are:
- JAMMIN’
This cue is all about creativity, ideas and information; listening and collecting data from all kinds of sources. - EMPATHY
This is the people-centred cue to see with the eyes of your customer, empathise with them and search for insights that matter. - PERSONALITY
The cue to work from the heart of your organisation; from your why and brand values to the holding space you provide for your stakeholders. - SCORE
The cue to visualise your decisions in the way that everyone has a ‘lead sheet’ of how to operate. - AGILITY
The cue to decide how to work together and in which constellations and when to do what. - REMIX
The cue to getting it all together under the given circumstances based on the other cues.
We will answer the following questions
Why Music Thinking? How can we benefit from Music Thinking now? What led to the development of Music Thinking
LEARNING BY EXPERIMENTING
We will prepare some interesting challenges on creativity, empathy, and collaboration to choose from. We will train on using up to three workshop exercises that use the Music Thinking Jam Cards.
Three workshop exercises and tools
Meaningful Collaboration with Music Thinking and three workshop exercises: Serendipity Lab, Mix & Match and Strategy Jam
Serendipity Lab you play alone, with headphones. Instead of directly interacting with the other participants you take some quality time and connect with your personal experiences, thoughts and open up for serendipity. You will explore different ways of generating material to start the next exercises.
Mix and Match you play with a duo partner to share your likes and dislikes, insights, triggers you got during Serendipity Lab and create a story together. It’s about empathy and collaboration and making a collection of insights that make sense to both of you.
In Strategy Jam you will play together with a group and start with one of the jam cards to work on your challenge. Depending on the challenge and the size of the group you will work with more cards to develop a bigger picture.
WHY SHOULD YOU PARTICIPATE IN THE COURSE?
The course is not only for changemakers, pattern recognizers, innovators, and transformers but also for everyone looking for inspiration, innovation, and meaningful collaboration.
The tools and exercises can be used with in-house teams from board level to innovation teams, customers, employees and other stakeholders or, even better, in a mix. The advantage of using music (that you might like or dislike) is that it connects above the silos.
That’s why every participant will receive his own Music Thinking Jam Card set consisting of 38 inspiration cards and 6 cue cards
All templates will be available digitally after the session and are free of use so you can start applying the exercises immediately to your own business challenge.
